Guzzolene: Gas Economics Tracker

Guzzolene is a personal fuel journal: over two hundred fill-ups for one Mazda 3 Sport, logged since 2018 and turned into a running read on the cost of driving. It plots price per gallon over time with real world events marked on the timeline, average fill-up cost and gallons per fill-up, and cost per mile set against WTI crude oil prices. The point is context. A single tank means little, but years of them, lined up against the wider economy, tell a story about the road and the world beyond the pump.
What it proves
Turning a personal logbook into analysis, plotting real fuel-economy and price data against world events and WTI crude oil.
How it was built
Built with Claude Code on the RECL loop, with pytest guarding the data and the pipeline. Public on GitHub.
What is real, and where I was learning
What is real: the data is my own driving record going back to 2018, and every chart is drawn from it. Where it is narrow: it is one car and one driver by design, a personal journal rather than a general fuel-tracking product.
